Hari Raya

This year, the Malay Language unit collaborated with various departments and performing arts groups to present a wonderful Hari Raya celebration, showcasing our rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity. The event began with a slideshow on Mother Tongue Fortnight activities: Sec 1s built a miniature kampung house, Sec 2s wove baskets, Sec 3s explored Malay performing arts and Sec 4s created vlogs.

Atika from 301 shared her Hari Raya experience coming from a mixed-parentage background. This was followed by a captivating Malay Dance performance. A video montage of Hari Raya well-wishes from CCA groups was played to spread festive cheer. Highlights included a special duet of Suasana Hari Raya by Miss Wirda and Annie from 301, a quiz on Hari Raya traditions, and the Damai Sashay fashion parade featuring teachers in traditional Malay costumes.

The celebration concluded with a mass sing-along to the song, Balik Kampung, led by our vice-principal, Mr. Siva, reflecting our school's commitment to cultural diversity.
